Jay Brown, Direktor Lijiang Studio

„Christine Falk is a painter of urban landscapes from Berlin, Germany. As artist in residence at Lijiang Studio, she has been fascinated with the beauty of landscapes and temple architecture in Shangri-la. These new oil paintings were painted partly in Lashihai, near Lijiang, and partly in Shangri-la, based on her research using drawings and photos.“ Cristine Falk: “When I arrived in Lashihai, I found a quiet, beautiful place and I felt like in a protective bowl. A valley surrounded by mountains, with fertile ground, a lake, animals and a lot of different plants. Most of the plants I knew from Germany, the weather was like there, so I felt at home.”
